Thanks for making the Annual Luncheon a Great Success
The 2009 Women 4 Women Annual Luncheon continued in its tradition of success on September 17! Approximately 1,300 people attended to listen to our keynote speaker, Michelle Singletary, share her financial wisdom. A big thank you goes out to all who attended and our Presenting Sponsor, Jewish Hospital & St. Marys HealthCare; our Speaker Sponsor, Bellarmine University; and our Ruby Sponsors, Anthem, Brown-Forman, E.ON US, Insight, Todays Woman, UPS and US Bank.
Davis Jewelers Hole-in-One Winner
Congratulations to Kelley Woggon of the Norton Womens Pavilion team who hit a 154-yard shot for a hole-in-one on Hole #12 during the Annual Women 4 Women Golf Tournament held on August 24, 2009 at the Cardinal Club. Kelley won a beautiful 18K gold and stainless steel Rolex Ladies Datejust watch valued at $8,800 (THANK YOU Davis Jewelers)! For all you golfers out there, you need to know that Kelley was under some pressure because none of her teammates had hit the green. She used a 7 Wood and her swing was perfect. It was Kelleys first hole-in-one, and it was also the first time Davis Jewelers has ever given away a hole-in-one prize.

October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month
 |
The National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV) created Domestic Violence Awareness Day in October 1981. The goal was to bring together advocates working to end violence against women and children. The first observance of Domestic Violence Awareness Month took place in 1987, and it was endorsed by Congress two years later. Every October since then, the issue of domestic violence has been highlighted in local and national venues all over the country.
The Center for Women and Families has planned a calendar of activities during the month to encourage our Kentuckiana communitys participation in the month-long national observance. Several area businesses are also raising funds on The Centers behalf during October. Two of the featured events are The R&R Limousine Garage Gala on October 17 from 7:00-12 pm. Visit
www.rrgala.com or call 502.458.1862 for event details or to purchase tickets. A full list of events can be found on The Centers website:
www.thecenteronline.org.
For more information about ending domestic violence please visit:

GREEN DOT KENTUCKY is about individual choices culminating in a broad cultural change that will result in a reduction of violence throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky. To learn more read:
