Save the Date
Women 4 Women’s 18th Annual Golf Tournament is scheduled for Monday, August 23, 2010, 9:30 a.m. at the Cardinal Club in Simpsonville, KY. So gather your female friends and reserve space for your team today by downloading your reservation form here and faxing to Joyce Seymour at (502) 561-8059. If you would like to donate items for the silent auction or need more information about the tournament, contact Joyce at (502) 561-8060 ext.226 or joyce@w4w.org.

 

THANK YOU for being a Champion 4 Change!
More than 1,200 participants registered for this year’s Norton Women’s Pavilion Champions 4 Her Walk, Run & Festival. A sincere thank you to all who participated, volunteered, raised funds and attended! Visit the Champions website for Walk, Run results and details about awards and t-shirt pick up.

Thank you to all who joined the Women 4 Women team, made a donation and came out to support the event. If you have not made your donation, it’s not too late. Meet Elizabeth Miller – DeGroot Handbag Raffle Winner

Congratulations to Elizabeth Miller who is the raffle winner of the Missy DeGroot Designer handbag package. Elizabeth purchased the raffle ticket from Junior League of Louisville and is involved in many different philanthropic organizations. Elizabeth works for Fifth Third Bank as a Financial Center Manager. 

When told that she won on Saturday, June 19, Elizabeth stated, “I was very disappointed that I was unable to be in town for the walk and bought the raffle ticket as another way to support this wonderful organization.  I can't wait to take advantage of all of the wonderful prizes.”

Thanks to all those who bought and sold raffle tickets. Your efforts helped raise more than $3,700 for the Norton Women’s Pavilion Champions 4 Her Walk, Run & Festival. We extend our gratitude to the raffle supporting sponsors: PNC Broadway Across America, Herscene.com, Blooms by Essential Details, The Galt House Hotel, The Bristol Bar & Grille, and Rodes for Her.


Ann L. Coffey Joins Kellogg Fellows Leadership Alliance

Women 4 Women President and CEO, Ann L. Coffey has been elected to serve on the board of directors of the Kellogg Fellows Leadership Alliance.  She has been an active member of the Alliance and served as a national Kellogg Fellow from 1995-1998.  To read more, click here



W4W UofL Student Chapter is Recognized
The Women 4 Women UofL Student Chapter received the Outstanding New Recognized Student Organization (RSO) Award on April 12. The Student Chapter earned this award by organizing and leading several community activities. Their efforts included: participating in the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Walk and Relay 4 Life, donating items to the Angel Tree, hosting the Welcome Back Breakfast, volunteering for Wayside Christian Mission, organizing a Self Defense Workshop, attending the 100 Wise Women Breakfast, recruiting students and participating in the Finance 4 U course, launching a Woman’s Film Festival and hosting their Annual Business Lunch.

Gabrielle Maxedon, the president of the Women 4 Women Student Chapter said, “Women 4 Women has really helped us develop our group and enrich our college experience.” Margo Waddell, W4W Director of Programs explained, “the Chapter is in its second year and we are very proud of the progress that these young leaders are making on the UofL Campus and in the community.” If you are interested in becoming a career mentor or encouragement coach for one of the student members, please contact Cyndi Moreno at Cyndi@w4w.org.
